Conley (Paul W.) Terminal opens.
1942
Originally the Castle Island Cargo Terminal, it is the only full-service container facility in New England and is located at 940 East Frist Street. It is subsequently operated by the Massachusetts Port Authority and expanded to 130 acres. After completion of the dredging of Boston Harbor and the addition of three cranes in 2022, the terminal increases its capacity to serve six cargo routes that connect with 25 ports around the world.
